A standout pitcher who graduated from Glenn High School and went on to play for Liberty University is now headed to the big leagues.
The Texas Rangers selected Garrett Horn in the sixth round of the 2024 MLB draft on Monday.
His mother, Laura Horn, shared her reaction in an exclusive statement to Scope News.
“We are so excited for Garrett,” she said. “He has been blessed with a wonderful talent as a baseball player.”

Garrett Horn’s family “yelled and clapped and gave him hugs” when they saw the announcement on TV, his mother recalled.
“It was such a fun moment we will never forget,” she said.
