Suspect Arrested, Victim Identified In Deadly Shooting

The Kernersville Police Department provided an update hours after responding to a shooting at the Food Lion on Union Cross road on Wednesday.

According to the statement, a suspect, 38-year-old Dillon Randolph Kiger of Kernersville was arrested at the scene. He was transported to the Forsyth County Detention Center without bond and faces one count of murder.

The deceased victim was identified as Marco Antonio Vargas Arellano, 40, of Burlington.

Police previously indicated that the incident, which occurred at 10:41 a.m., was an isolated incident that presented no further danger to the general public.
