New Principal Approved For Kernersville Middle School

Kernersville Middle School will have a new principal next month, but it will be a familiar face for students and faculty.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools confirmed this week that Rachel Sanchez, who has served as assistant principal at the school for nearly a decade, will be taking on the new role.

Sanchez’s academic background includes a master’s degree in education and post-master’s certificate from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She is also a national board-certified teacher in early adolescent English Language Arts and holds an administrative license.

She had been a teacher in Guilford County prior to accepting a position with WS/FCS as instructional facilitator at Mineral Springs Middle School.

Her tenure as principal officially begins on August 1.
