About three months after hosting the larger SerbFest, St. Basil of Ostrog Serbian Orthodox Church in Kernersville is preparing for another two-day festival highlighting the Serbian dish ćevapi and various other cultural aspects of the region.
Parish Board Secretary Sasha Cvijetić is one of the event’s organizers and spoke to Scope News about what attendees can expect.
St. Basil of Ostrog has held a Ćevap Fest for several years and admission to this weekend’s festival, which begins at noon on both Saturday and Sunday, is free.
“It is intended as another way to showcase parts of Serbian culture to the local community through food, live music, opening the church for visitors, and providing activities for children to enjoy,” Cvijetić said. “The other, much bigger festival is SerbFest, held on Memorial Day weekend each year.”
The church is located at 270 Ogden School Road. Click here for more information about this event.
