Firefighters from Kernersville, Beeson Crossroads, and Walkertown responded to an active fire at a home in the Wyndfall neighborhood on Friday evening.
The incident occurred during a storm and a statement from the Kernersville Fire Rescue Department confirmed that the fire was possibly ignited by a lightning strike, though it remains under investigation by the local fire marshal’s office.
According to the agency, its personnel “responded to over 15 incidents during the height of the storm and many others throughout the day.”
A total of 29 firefighters were dispatched to the blaze and were able to bring it under control within 20 minutes.
“We would like to thank our mutual [aid] departments for all their assistance,” the agency added. “A special thanks to the Forsyth County Communications Center for their work in staffing several incidents during this period, including two other reported house fires in the Kernersville area.”
