The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s maintenance division announced a planned pipe replacement that is scheduled to leave a section of one local road closed beginning Monday at 9:00 a.m.
Weather permitting, the work is expected to be finished by Friday at 5:00 p.m.
According to a statement, workers will be stationed “near address 7632 and 7652 Watkins Ford Road,” during which time vehicles will encounter a detour.
“Expected impact to traffic is high,” the NCDOT confirmed.
Motorists in the area are urged to drive with caution and pay attention to signs posted near the work zone.
