Huzzah! Kernersville Renaissance Festival Saturday

The Brewer’s Kettle is hosting its first Renaissance festival on Saturday.

From noon to midnight, the 308 East Mountain Street location will become a family-friendly medieval playground complete with mead, turkey legs, a treasure hunt, and armored combat shows. Attendees are encouraged to dress up in Renaissance-themed costumes.

The Fiddler & The Flutist will provide live music while Free Spirit Parrot Sanctuary & Exotics will have “tiny dragons” available to pet.

Michelle Kennedy, Brewer’s Kettle owner and event organizer, said she is most excited for the Snail Cavalry— a troupe of actors dressed as snails who roll around and interact with festival-goers.

With the large Carolina Renaissance Festival in Huntersville beginning next week, Kennedy touts the Kernersville version as “the party before the party.” This timing means Brewer’s Kettle can secure many vendors who will also be attending the larger festival.

The Bullfrog Apothecary, Major Tomm’s Oddities & Curiosities, Callen Dark Arts, and many more will be on site. Find a list of all vendors here.

Dogs on leashes are welcome. Alcohol will be available for purchase by those 21 years of age and older.

Kennedy’s one wish for the festival is good weather and she will like get it: Saturday’s forecast includes sunny skies and a high of 79.
