East Forsyth Defense Dominates Parkland

Chris Kirby looped around the end zone holding two fingers high in the air, a trail of his smiling teammates sprinting after him. The senior had just recorded his second touchdown of the game — not uncommon for an East Forsyth offensive player, but Kirby is a defensive tackle.

The East Forsyth defense helped obliterate the Parkland Mustangs 62-6 in the homecoming game on a chilly Friday night.

Kirby was named Player of the Game for recording 11 total tackles, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries both returned for touchdowns.

The Eagles set a new season high in tackles for a loss of yards with 14 and blocked both a field goal and a punt.

Bryce Baker and the offense were not to be outdone — the quarterback threw for 304 yards and four touchdowns.

The Eagles maintain their top conference spot with a 7-0 record. Later this week, they play a road game against R.J. Reynolds High School.
