A number of area businesses are sponsoring the third annual Nailed It 5K Pumpkin Run, which will take place Saturday afternoon at Harmon Park. Registration begins at 3:00 p.m. and the race starts an hour later.
Those who wish to participate but are not interested in racing can take part in a one-mile fun walk. The general public is invited to cheer on the runners and food trucks will be at the park, 152 South Main Street.
The Halloween theme also includes a trick-or-treating opportunity for kids.
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Kernersville Foundation.
Scope News spoke to one event organizer who indicated this year’s race could attract more than 150 runners. WXII meteorologist Dylan Hudler will serve as the master of ceremonies.
Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded in several categories. Click here for tickets or additional race information.
