According to a statement from the Kernersville Police Department, a woman was discovered unresponsive inside an automobile in the 800 block of Old Winston Road on Friday afternoon.
The individual, identified as 61-year-old Sherry Gaye Standridge, was pronounced dead at the scene. As of the latest update available, an investigation remained underway into the cause of her death.
Police reportedly made the discovery upon arriving at the location in response to a welfare check request.
Local authorities stressed that “there is no danger to the community” in connection with this incident.
