Kernersville Fire and Rescue confirmed in a statement that crews were “on the scene of an assisted living facility in the 600 block of Piney Grove Road following a carbon monoxide alarm activation with reported symptoms.”

Three of the individuals received additional medical evaluation due to “symptoms consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning.”

Multiple local agencies responded to the incident and the gas supply was shut off as authorities investigated the cause of the apparent leak. The situation remained ongoing as of the latest updates available.
