Western NC Relief Concert Features Luke Cope, Tatum Scott Of ‘The Voice’

Since being crowned Universe United Miss North Carolina, Reanna Ruark has used her platform to assist those in our state impacted by Hurricane Helene last year.

After spearheading an effort to collect prom gowns for students in the region, she began organizing a fundraising concert to be held next week at Gypsy Road Brewing Company. Triad-based singer Luke Cope and “The Voice” contestant Tatum Scott are scheduled to perform at the “Harmony & Hope” fundraiser, the latest from Ruark’s project Shining Through the Storm.

1756 is an ambitious new project from Scope News designed to preserve Kernersville history in a unique way.

She told Scope News that those in attendance will not only be supporting the relief effort in Western North Carolina, but can expect an “exciting evening” of live music as well as “a wide variety of silent auction items, drinks, and more.”

Ruark noted that she has known both Cope and Scott since childhood and contacted them to participate in the event.

“Their talent and connection to our community made them a perfect fit for this fundraiser, and I’m proud to have them involved in supporting families in need,” she added.

Cope said the opportunity was a “no-brainer,” adding: “Friends and family coming together arm in arm to love and support each other is a cause I hope we’d all be honored to be a part of. Reanna and her family are like family to me. They have loved and supported my family over the years regardless of the endeavor. I’m so blessed to know them and to be a part of this amazing event.”

Scott was similarly excited to participate when Ruark contacted her.
“What a great event for a great cause,” the Team Kelsea singer said. “I stand with our Western North Carolina community and I’m so grateful that I get to be part of this to spread some light through music.”

A number of fundraisers and supply drives have been organized by locals in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, and Ruark emphasized the cumulative impact of these efforts.

“I hope this event shows that even small acts of kindness — whether it’s donating or volunteering — can make a big difference,” she said. “Harmony & Hope is a reminder that we all have the power to help our neighbors and make our community stronger.”

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. on March 8 at Gypsy Road Brewing Company, 1105 East Mountain Street. Tickets are $5 at the door and all of the proceeds will benefit communities in Western North Carolina.
