A local pageant winner has been using her statewide platform to help those in need across Western North Carolina — and now her nonprofit organization is teaming up with a popular jewelry brand to expand its reach.
Universe United Miss North Carolina Reanna Ruark’s Shining Through the Storm initiative has already spearheaded relief efforts in response to Hurricane Helene, as Scope News previously reported.
This week, she announced a collaboration between her organization and Kendra Scott, the fashion retail chain opening its newest store in Winston-Salem next month.
“As a young girl, I admired this brand for its beauty, but now I admire it even more for its heart,” Ruark said. “Never did I imagine I’d one day be collabing with a company that gives back to its community the same way I strive to through Shining Through the Storm.”
In addition to her opportunity to serve as co-host of the Grand Opening event at Thruway Shopping Center on May 16, she noted that 20% of proceeds from that evening’s sales will support her cause. Furthermore, a portion of online and in-store purchases from May 16 to 18 will go to Shining Through the Storm with the use of the code “GIVEBACK-SHINING.”
