Freida Lashmit, a budget manager with over 30 years of experience in Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, will serve as the district’s interim CFO through June 30. 

Lashmit previously served as the interim CFO for six months in 2019 when then-CFO Kim Slusher resigned. 

“Lashmit will step into the role to provide experienced leadership and support to the Finance Department during this transitional period,” the district said in a statement. 

WS/FCS will start advertising to permanently fill the position for the 2025-2026 school year. Read the full statement here.
