One of Kernersville’s historic buildings burned Saturday evening, leading to the closure of Bodenhamer Street between North Main and East Mountain streets.

According to a Kernersville Fire Rescue statement, a commercial structure at 208 East Bodenhamer Street was “fully involved” when crews arrived. Caudill’s Electrical has most recently occupied the building.

“Additionally, there was a motor vehicle accident in the vicinity involving downed power lines,” the department added.
