A local facility has been recognized as the Industrial Project of the Year by NAIOP North Carolina.
Ziehl-Abegg Inc. Managing Director Jimmy Mitchell provided a statement upon being presented with the award, which recognizes commercial real estate developments that emphasize design, innovation, and community impact.
“We are deeply honored to receive this recognition from NAIOP North Carolina,” Mitchell said. “The project was about more than bricks and steel — it was about building a foundation for future growth in North and South America.”
The facility, which covers about 500,000 square feet and was completed last year after nearly two years of construction, serves as the company’s manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and administrative hub for the Americas.
The award-winning project was developed alongside firms like Front Street Capital, Landmark Builders, and Triad Design Group, combining themes of sustainability and advanced manufacturing capabilities.
With support from local and state initiatives, the new Ziehl-Abegg headquarters is expected to create up to 500 jobs over the next five years. Click here to learn more about the company.
