One of the perks of straddling the Forsyth/Guilford county line is that locals aren’t limited to just one Creek Week each year.
About three months after a week of local Forsyth County Creek Week events, the Kernersville Public Services Department is working with Guilford County Creek Week organizers on events across the eastern side of town.
From 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a “Critter Crawl” at Triad Park, 6952 West Market Street, will provide an opportunity for some hands-on education about the local ecosystem. The group will meet near Shelter #1 at the volleyball court.
Participants can register online prior to the event and are encouraged to wear rain boots or other water-resistant shoes given the nature of the creekside exploration.

Also taking place in during Guilford County Creek Week is a volunteer litter pick-up scheduled to last through Saturday. Supplies are available upon signing up at the Kernersville Public Services building, 509 Michael Street.
Volunteers can pick up litter at their convenience. The effort is primarily focused on areas along Old Greensboro Road, Grays Land Road, Kentland Ridge Drive, and East Mountain Street.
