Police say a man traveled from Virginia to Kernersville to meet a person he believed to be a juvenile following an undercover operation targeting online solicitation.
According to a Kernersville Police Department news release, investigators initiated the operation late last month. Joe Wesley Bray Jr. allegedly engaged in a conversation with the intent “to solicit and facilitate sexual activity” with a child.
On Thursday, Bray was arrested without incident upon his arrival in Kernersville, police say. He faces charges of solicitation of a child by computer and appearing at the meeting location and was placed in custody under a $50,000 bond.
Anyone with information related to the case is asked to contact the KPD Criminal Investigation Division at 336-996-3177.
