Longtime Collector, Dealer Open Local Card Shop

Local card collectors now have a new spot to buy, sell, and trade without leaving town.

Curry’s Sports Cards & Gaming recently opened in the Kerner Village Shopping Center on South Main Street, adjacent to Aldi. Manager Randy Curry told Scope News he has been in the collectibles business since the late 1980s, having owned several shops in towns across North Carolina.

Owner Chris Peak travels the state attending shows and conventions and, after accumulating a large private inventory over the years, decided to open a permanent storefront in Kernersville.

The location is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, and Curry says customers can expect a mix of vintage and modern cards, with a focus on all sports, Magic: The Gathering, and Pokemon.

To stay competitive, Curry says the team checks recent online sales for comparable items, averages those prices, and lists their stock up to 30% below the typical price.

His message to local card traders: “Between our hospitality and our prices, I think you’ll find yourself a home shop.”

Curry’s is open 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.
