A charity lacrosse competition is returning to Kernersville next week, bringing together players from across the region for two days of competition and community support.
The Stick It To Hunger Charity Lacrosse Classic, or simply the “Hunger Games,” will once again be held at Ivey Redmon Sports Complex, 788 Beeson Road, with adult men’s games scheduled for December 6 and high school boys taking the field the following day.

Hosted by the Triad Blackhawks lacrosse team, the tournament pairs high-energy lacrosse with a mission to fight food insecurity. Every participant contributes non-perishable food items and the Blackhawks donate all net revenues to local charities.
This year, the club is partnering with the Salvation Army to ensure donations reach food banks throughout the area.
Last year’s event collected more than 10 tons of food, with SPAM Lacrosse and East Forsyth High School leading the way in total donations for the adult and high school divisions, respectively.
This year’s Hunger Games are expected to draw around 20 teams and 300 players from across the Triad, Raleigh, and Charlotte. Spectators are invited to attend, cheer on local athletes, and, of course, contribute their own non-perishable food items.
