The Blood Connection will set up at Parks Chevrolet, 615 Highway 66 South, on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Donors will be eligible for $40 in gift cards in exchange for their time. Appointments are encouraged and can be made via an online portal here. Walk-ins are welcome, but may encounter longer wait times.

Local participation is a key part of the effort, and Parks Chevrolet body shop manager Morgan Darnell has been leading by example.

He told Scope News that he has been donating blood “off and on since high school,” describing it as a simple but meaningful way to give back.

“For me, it’s about paying it forward,” he said. “I can help save someone’s life with just a small amount of my time. I’m not just donating blood; I’m donating positive energy to a world that needs it.”
