Ziehl-Abegg, a global manufacturer of ventilation, control, and drive technology, announced it had surpassed 1 billion euros (or about $1.1 billion) in annual revenue for the first time in its history. The milestone has translated into continued hiring and expanded manufacturing activity in the Triad.

According to preliminary figures, the German company recorded more than 12 percent year-over-year global revenue growth, with the US now representing its largest foreign market at more than 20 percent of total sales. Its North American headquarters, located off of Union Cross Road just outside of Kernersville town limits, has been a key part of that growth with a recent 100-million-euro investment aimed at strengthening local production and supply chains.

“At a time when manufacturing jobs are declining across much of the country, we are actively growing our workforce in Winston-Salem,” said CEO Joachim Ley. “This facility allows us to localize production, respond faster to customers, and invest in skilled manufacturing roles right here in the Triad.”

The local site supports manufacturing, logistics, research and development, and corporate operations across North America. Ziehl-Abegg has localized production of several high-volume fan products in the US, a move the company says helps stabilize supply chains and reduce tariff exposure.

Globally, the company has about 5,800 employees, or roughly 500 more than a year ago. Its North American operations continue to add manufacturing and technical positions as demand grows for energy-efficient ventilation systems produced closer to its end customers.

Ziehl-Abegg US Managing Director of Operations Jimmy Mitchell credited the milestone to the local workforce, adding: “This achievement reflects the dedication of our teams here in the US. Every day, our people show up with skill, pride, and a commitment to doing things the right way.”
