Drug, Weapons Arrests Follow Incident At Sheetz: KPD

A recent report of an individual with a gun at a local convenience store led to multiple arrests, according to the Kernersville Police Department.

Officers responded to the Sheetz at 1400 NC Highway 66 South, where they reportedly identified a suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Three individuals were detained during the investigation, according to the KPD statement.

Police say a search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a firearm, cocaine, prescription medication, and THC vape devices.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Byron Lopez-Andrade and faces charges including possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule II and Schedule VI controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held without bond.

A passenger, identified as 18-year-old Braxton Kirby, was arrested on suspicion of going armed to the terror of the public and communicating threats. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond.
