About Scope News Kernersville

Scope News Kernersville is a locally owned, independent newsroom covering the people, events, and developments that shape the lives of those living in the Heart of the Triad.

Our mission is simple: to deliver timely, accurate, and relevant reporting that helps our audience stay informed and engaged with their community.

A commitment to accuracy, independence, and accountability

We believe good journalism builds stronger communities. Every story we publish is guided by the highest professional ethics in adherence to our core commitments.

We double-check facts, cite original sources, and correct any errors promptly and transparently. Our newsroom operates free from political or private-sector influence and editorial decisions are made locally, by experienced journalists who live in the same community we serve.

In-house editorial standards

Our reporters follow a clear, internal style and ethics guide that sets the tone for how we gather information, verify facts, report our findings, and attribute sources. All reporting must meet our standards for fairness, accuracy, and clarity before publication.

We treat artificial intelligence as a tool, not a replacement for actual journalism. AI may assist in background tasks such as organizing information, transcribing interviews, and brainstorming headlines, but such uses are limited and clearly defined in our in-house guide. Any AI-assisted content is fact-checked against original sources before publication.

The latest edition of our internal style and ethics guide is available upon request.

Scope News Kernersville depends on community collaboration and we’re proud to remain locally managed.
