A Greensboro woman is facing charges after a robbery and assault at a Kernersville convenience store was captured on video and widely circulated on social media.

Kernersville police say the incident took place earlier this month at the Sheetz located at 1400 NC Highway 66 South.

In the video clip, which gained traction online this week, two women are seen exiting the store. One of them appears to get into a physical altercation with an employee just outside the entrance.

Following an investigation, authorities identified Ayanna Chappelle Marsh as the suspect. She was arrested and charged with one felony count of common law robbery and one misdemeanor count of simple assault.

“Criminals beware: Not in our town,” warned Kernersville Police Chief Jason Tilley in announcing the arrest.
