Four local organizations devoted to preserving the town’s history and heritage are coming together with the goal of forming a new partnership — the Kernersville History Alliance — to coordinate efforts, share resources, and create a stronger public connection to Kernersville’s past.
The Kernersville Historic Preservation Society, Korner’s Folly Foundation, Kernersville Museum, and Kernersville Museum Foundation will be represented at a community forum to be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Paddison Memorial Branch Library, 248 Harmon Lane. Residents are invited to share their ideas and priorities for the new collaboration.

KHPS Vice President Bruce Frankel told Scope News the meeting is intended to be more of an open conversation than a formal rollout.
“I don’t have an organizational chart of how this alliance is going to work,” he said. “I want to hear from the community first. What landmarks are important to you? How do you want to participate?”
The new partnership aims to make it easier for locals and visitors alike to discover the town’s historic landmarks, hidden treasures, upcoming events, and volunteer opportunities.
“We can have a central resource,” Frankel added. “How do you compete in the media when so much is coming at people? By giving them one place to get information.”
He went on to emphasize community engagement as the heart of the alliance’s mission, saying: “None of these organizations would exist without the support of the community.”
Each of the participating entities will remain independent, but Frankel said working together will help strengthen their shared mission to preserve and promote local history.
“If you travel the state, you’ll find there’s no other group quite like this,” he said. “To have four organizations — three nonprofits and the town itself — all working together for the same cause, that’s pretty special.”
Scope News will be in attendance at next week’s meeting and will provide updates on the development of the Kernersville History Alliance as they become available.
