A craft and vendor fair planned for later this week will provide a chance to support small, local creators while showing some extra love to seniors in the community.

April Knapp of Sunshine Creations & Special Events said shoppers can expect a family-friendly fair with a variety of businesses and makers offering handmade goods, gifts, and specialty items. The event will be held at VFW Post 5352, 618 Edgewood Street, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
In addition to supporting local vendors, Knapp is highlighting an “Adopt-a-Senior” outreach effort aimed at seniors who may be isolated or in need of an extra dose of encouragement this Valentine’s season. Community members are invited to donate items that will be assembled into gift bags at the fair.
Requested donations include comfort and care items like socks, blankets, toiletries, puzzle books, handwritten cards, and small treats. Monetary donations will also be accepted and used to purchase additional items as needed. All donations can be dropped off during the event.
The goal, Knapp said, is to create a meaningful opportunity for the community to show seniors they are seen and valued while also supporting local businesses. Residents interested in nominating a senior to receive a gift can find more information by clicking here.
