Kiwanis Continues Literacy Push With World Book Day Event At Culver’s

The Kiwanis Club of Kernersville is planning a giveaway next week to coincide with World Book Day.

Free books will be available to local children between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Culver’s, 1780 Pecan Lane.

The Amanzi Marble and Granite Spring Folly, brought to you by the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce, is almost here.

Along with all your favorite festival traditions, this year’s event will feature the NEW Kids Workshops on Heritage Square, including LEGO challenges and hands-on building projects with Keith Smith Construction and Lowe’s.

World Book Day is celebrated annually on April 23 and is intended to encourage reading and access to books, particularly among young people. Local Kiwanians have long prioritized literacy programs and book giveaways as part of their considerable civic outreach.

Organizers say each child will be able to take one book home. The event is free and open to the public with food and drinks available for purchase as usual through the restaurant.

Another free World Book Day celebration is set for Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bricks & Minifigs, 960-A South Main Street. Click here for more information about this Lego-themed literacy event.
