Spring Folly Adds New Hands-On Activities For Kids This Year

All the rides, shows, music, food, shopping, and fun that families have come to expect from the Amazon Marble and Granite Spring Folly will be back in full force this weekend. And this year, organizers are adding some new interactive opportunities for younger attendees.

Two local businesses are presenting hands-on activities at the Spring Folly that will give kids a chance to design and build while enjoying the annual downtown festival.

Bricks & Minifigs is hosting a full slate of Lego Master Challenge activities from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The rotating challenges give young builders a chance to blend creativity and problem-solving across a variety of themes.

Each hour brings a new challenge, providing participants with the tools they need to build rolling vehicles, custom robots, towers, minifigure habitats, and more. Sign-ups are encouraged due to limited spots, but families are welcome to stop by, grab some bricks, and join in the activity. Parents are asked to stay with their children during the challenge.

At the same time, Keith Smith Construction will offer a different kind of experience. The Kids Building Challenge will take place at the same time as the Lego Master Challenge and invites kids between 5 and 12 to use real tools and follow a guided plan to complete a project.

Participants will be able to take their completed project home with them.
