The nonprofit announced that the refuge for survivors of domestic violence had been closed for repairs, with an estimated $30,000 in damage and no way to absorb the unexpected expense without outside help.

Next Step Ministries emphasized that its crisis hotline remains active and its advocates are still providing daily support services to survivors.

But the organization is encouraging anyone interested in helping meet this immediate need to assist in one of three primary ways: making a one-time donation toward repair costs, joining its new “Neighbors of Hope” giving program, or partnering as a local business to host a fundraising event.
