Two Arrested In 600-Gallon Oil Theft, Police Say

Two suspects were arrested after authorities say they stole hundreds of gallons of oil from a local business this week.

According to the Kernersville Police Department, officers observed a work truck pulling behind a local business early Thursday morning. Further surveillance reportedly showed two men bypassing security measures on an oil storage container and using a gas-powered pump to remove oil from the tank.

Officers initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle attempted to leave the area, locating the oil valued at $3,102 inside, according to the KPD statement. The vehicle was reportedly towed from the scene.

Joshua Valle and Javier Gonzalez-Espinal, both of Charlotte, were arrested on $25,000 secured bond and face charges including felony larceny, possession of burglary tools, and larceny after breaking or entering.
