Officials urge anyone who may have had physical contact with a fox in the area between May 7-14 to seek medical guidance. Rabies is a serious and potentially fatal disease if left untreated, but it is preventable with prompt medical treatment.

Anyone who believes their pet may have come into contact with a fox during the same time frame are advised to contact their veterinarian and call Forsyth County Animal Services at 336-727-2112.
