Low Water Pressure, Discoloration Possible During Late Friday Work

Residents in and around Kernersville may notice temporary changes in water service as part of a scheduled utilities project in Forsyth County.

According to an advisory by Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Utilities, water system improvements beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Friday could cause fluctuations in water pressure or discoloration in some homes and businesses. The project is expected to be completed by 8:00 a.m. the following day.

Affected areas include customers east of US 52 and north of Salem Parkway, with potential impacts extending into eastern Forsyth County communities including Kernersville.

Officials noted that water will remain safe for drinking, cooking, and bathing even as the work is being done. Customers noticing persistent discoloration or pressure problems can report them through CityLink.

Liberty Street, between Ivy Avenue and Linden Street, in Winston-Salem, will be closed to through traffic during the project.
