The Kernersville Museum is inviting the community to a free, family-friendly History Day event from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday:

The event will be held at the museum, 109 South Cherry Street, in collaboration with the Kernersville Police Department and Kernersville Fire Rescue with support from Huntington Bank.

Visitors will have an opportunity to explore local history while getting an up-close look at emergency response vehicles including a historic 1923 firetruck and KPD’s armored BearCat.

Museum administrator Heidi Tufte told Scope News that the event is designed to be both educational and engaging for all ages.

“We’ll have games, we’ll have a card that people can check off when they find things, and more,” she said. “We’re happy to have everybody come and see.”

While at the museum, guests can tour the indoor exhibits and enjoy ice pops courtesy of Huntington Bank.
