A steady stream of job seekers filed through the doors last week when Ziehl-Abegg held a hiring event as part of its push to support the company’s rapid local expansion. Another opportunity is just around the corner.

“This is a general hiring event,” recruiting manager Kristina Nelson told Scope News. “We are basically hiring for production, office positions, all different types of roles within the organization.”

The June event saw hundreds of applicants, many of whom were expected to receive offers “within a week,” and the next, set for July 25, aims to move even faster.

“The event in July is going to be a little bit different because we’re ideally going to be making offers onsite,” Nelson explained.

The immediate needs are substantial, with dozens of open positions in the production area, particularly for second- and third-shift roles in assembly and warehouse operations. 

“Fifteen to 20 other positions are open in the office,” Nelson added.

Behind the hiring push is a surge in demand tied to broader industry trends, explained Carmen Deese, vice president of human resources.

“The growth that we’re seeing is just the beginning of what we expect to see over the next 18 to 24 months,” she said, citing plans to grow the local workforce from roughly 525 today to 725 within a year. Longer-term projections indicate that number could exceed 900.

Deese said the company’s “key market segments” are responsible for the expansion.

“There’s a lot of noise around data technology,” she explained. “We do excel and provide really high-efficient fans for those business segments, so it is really driving some of our local growth.”
